Last Exterior Walls

A mile stone day! The last of the exterior walls are up. You will notice by the darkness of the pictures that it's still raining, but we now know the feel of the dimensions of the house.
When we asked Ian to design the house so that it didn't take away from the feeling we had when we were up there in the woods, we had no idea that he would be able to make it feel like we were living "in" the woods. He has done an unbelievable job of doing just that. Now we can see what we will see out of the kitchen and the living room.
The pictures show Peggy standing in the kitchen, a shot the other direction through the dining room to the living room end and side walls, and a picture looking down the gallery past our bedroom.. The living room side wall will have windows almost to the ground and you can see that there are windows yet to be cut out above the windows that are obvious.
The kitchen sink will be in front of where Peg is standing and there will be kitchen cabinets all under the windows and around to cover the wall behind her. May make doing dishes a little more fun. (Or not.)
The ends of the gallery will have a 4' clear glass door that will lead outside and the big window above it is not fully cut out at this time.
The guys have the 2" x 12" there for the rafters on the second half so maybe by the end of next week it will all be framed in and we can start drying it out.
We are so thrilled with how the house is taking shape. Have a great day. We are.

Ron and Peg, BEAUTIFUL, simply BEAUTIFUL. We are so happy for you guys. (We've tried to type notes in several times before but were challenged by the sign in process, think we have it down now) With the busyness of our lives I'm glad for the pictoral updates. The house seems to be progressing quickly even tho I'm sure it seems slow for you. Ron and I can't wait to spend evenings in your country cabin with the girls beating the boys at cards while taking in all the beauty of your new home. We're still pinching ourselves that you actually live right in our own county. YEAH!! Keep the photos coming and we'll keep anticipating all the wonderful years ahead.
